Weekly Meditation

We meet on Sunday evenings from 6 pm to 8 pm in the shrine room of the Sakyamuni Buddhist Centre, 32_Archibald Street, Lyneham. Directions to our meeting place are available on the Contact page.

We begin with 30 minutes metta (benevolence) practice, followed by 30 minutes of walking and then 30 minutes of vipassana practice. After this there is some time for questions or discussion.

In keeping with the traditional Buddhist practice of generosity (dana) there is no charge for attending the Sunday evening sessions. There is an opportunity to make a donation to the temple who generously offers us a place to practise.

Copies of the chanting we do every week are available here. Please print out and bring a copy with you.

Cushions and stools are provided in the shrine room but please bring your own if you prefer. Remember to remove shoes before entering.

Modest clothing is the norm in traditional temples.
